Gravelle trial

We can tell you a little bit more tonight about the trial of a notorious Hamilton family, connected to several large scale drug busts. 51 year old Andre Gravelle, his sister Ruth-Anne and Ronald Welch, and Bradley Huffman are charged with using a medical marijuana grow op, to supply drugs for illegal sale. This happened back in November 2012 at at 554 Beach Rd.
Today all of them are free on bail, as they attended court this morning. Earlier today Morris questioned an RCMP constable and established that there were 3 valid grow-op licences issued by Health Canada to Daniel Gravelle, Leo Gravelle and Bruce Kenner and all of them were up to date at the time of the raid. And yet armed police stormed the property and seized nearly 300 marijuana plants anyway.
“Why did you do that when you knew there were proper licences for these medical marijuana plants?” Morris asked
“Because they were on the warrant” Constable Rob Kempf replied.
In questioning a second RCMP officer, Morris made 2 key points. First he had Corcoran refer to his notes and confirm “there was 7 licences taped to that door.”
Morris then established for a second time that the licences were valid, “you know that Health Canada advised there was a legal marijuana grow, operating at 554 Beach road.”
Corcoran answered “yes”.
Gravelle, his sister Ruth Anne Finlayson, Ronald Welch, and Bradley Huffman are the only suspects remaining out of 12 people originally charged in connection with this case.
