Government finds more gas plant documents

The government has found more documents about the cancelled Mississauga and Oakville gas plants, even though they originally said the documents had been lost forever.
Privacy Commissioners Ann Cavoukian is calling the Liberals’ behaviour appalling, and says their actions have been misleading.
Last month, Cavoukian accused officials in the Liberal government of breaking the law, by destroying documents. She also said she was told there was no way to recover the emails.
Today, Cavoukian says the government has recovered some of the emails about the cancellation of two power plants during the last election in ridings where the government was facing opposition to the plants.
She says the government admits it made a mistake, but says she’s still appalled that she was mislead in the first place.
Cavoukian says she will pass this on to the OPP, who are conducting a criminal investigation.
