Google pauses AI image generation of people after controversies

Google has paused its artificial intelligence tool’s ability to produce images of people after a backlash over historically inaccurate depictions of race.
The AI tool ‘Gemini’ was generating images that largely showed people of colour in place of white people.
The embarrassing snafu was blasted on social media and shows how AI models are still extremely new technology.
Google says it’s working to address the problem and will re-release an improved version soon.
