Good Shepherd annual high school graduation honours young moms, marginalized youth

The Good Shepherd celebrated its annual high school graduation on Monday to honour young moms and marginalized youth.
Eight students a part of the education program earned their high school diplomas. Family, friends and faculty gathered to celebrate their achievements.

Director of Youth Services Norma Joaquim said, “Education is one of the things that helps break barriers of poverty and impacts not only the young parents but also their children. If they finish high school, their social mobility is better.”
The classes were held at Notre Dame House School and the Jeanne Scott Parent & Child Resource Centre in partnership with the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic School Board and the Good Shepherd.
Teachers and staff say they work hard to make the education experience as pleasant as possible and are proud of the students and their accomplishments.
