Good Samaritan’s Actions Commended in Hamilton Fire

Police say the actions of a good samaritan most likely saved lives after an early morning fire in Hamilton’s east end. The fire started at 27 Lincoln Street in the back of the house before spreading to number 29. Brandon Murray who lives on the street says he called 911 when he saw flames shooting out of one unit. The fire forced several families from their homes.
The cause of the fire is undetermined. The total damage is estimated at more than $300,000 but officials say the outcome could have been much worse if it had not been for Murray’s 911 call. Police have now put forward a request to get Murray a commendation or other formal recognition.
