Good deeds earn kids bikes

It’s called Earn a Bike and this morning over a hundred kids from Hamilton picked up their hard-earned prize.
The program, a joint initiative between Hamilton Police and Tim Hortons, rewards kids who have been volunteering their time at various various programs throughout the city this summer.
Scott Rastin of Hamilton Police said “we had 130 kids who in the last week have volunteered to pick up trash in streets and churches and earn a bike for their volunteerism.”
The program started 17 years ago with just five children. Today 130 kids took part in the program riding home on their new bike.
