GO Transit buying new train cars

The government of Ontario is buying 65 new double-decker GO train cars from bombardier to support jobs in thunder bay.

The purchase will increase GO Transit’s fleet of cars to 743. Around 250 workers will work on the $481 million project, with delivery expected between June 2016 and July 2017.

GO Transit is currently working on introducing two-way, all-day service on all seven of its rail lines.
