GO bus strike averted

Commuters using GO Transit were able to get to work without a problem this morning as Metrolinx reached a tentative agreement with the union that represents GO bus drivers.

Although the midnight strike deadline set by the union passed, negotiators for both sides continued discussions into the early hours. Shortly after 2:30, the union announced a tentative deal had been reached and called off this morning’s planned walkout.

Details of the new contract won’t be released until the membership has voted on it.
