Getting down and dirty for MS research

An event to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada got off to a tidy start in Hamilton Saturday morning… but it didn’t end that way.
The 5 kilometre fundraiser, expected to raise $100,000 on Fruitland Road was mired in muck on purpose.
Over 600 participants came out to hop fences, navigate a tire course and swing on ropes in a full-scale muddy military exercise course.
Tony the drill sergeant, a former marine conceived and built the course.
The money will help people with MS live their daily lives and support research. Canada is a big player in MS research and there is a lot of exciting new treatments coming.
It was the first time the MS Society has held the event in Hamilton and they hope to be back next year.
