GenNext aims to encourage charity among youth
A group of young students and professionals gathered in Hamilton Thursday for the fifth annual GenNext fundraising breakfast.
The group is raising awareness and supporting the work of the United Way and its partners, by developing and participating in volunteer and fundraising events. They’re trying to encourage people in their 20s and 30s to become involved with the United Way and to give back to their communities.
Justin Joseph of GenNext United Way put it like this: “All of us plan to be in the city for 25, 30 years, until we retire and grow old, and we want to make a difference within those 25 years.”
Money raised at the event will go to the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton.
