Gas prices to rise in GTHA another 4 cents this week: analyst

Gas prices across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area are expected to continue rising after a new record was set on the weekend.
Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, predicts gasoline will increase by another three or four cents per litre Wednesday or Thursday.
This hike comes after prices at the pumps climbed to around $212.9 cents per litre on Sunday.
McTeague said the recent jump in prices follows months of soaring fuel costs in the GTHA tied to a fuel shortage related to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
He also suspects drivers will pay even more for gas in the coming weeks.
“At $2.15 a litre today, which is what we’re paying today, could possibly go up in the next couple of weeks to $2.25,” McTeague said.
He recommends that drivers get used to the two-dollar mark at the pumps.
