Comedian Garry Shandling has died.

In addition to stand-up comedy, the producer and star was perhaps best known for “The Larry Sanders Show” and “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show.”

The former was an inside look at a long-running late night talk show, a role Shandling may have learned while serving as one of Johnny Carson’s official guest hosts in the late 1980’s.

In the early 80’s Shandling went from being behind the scenes as a sitcom writer to being in front of the camera as a stand-up comedian and actor.

It’s been reported that Shandling was fine and speaking to people yesterday morning, and then was later rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Sources say he died from a massive heart attack without prior warning.

Garry Shandling was 66-years old.
