Funeral for van attack victim, Renuka Amarasinghe

Hundreds of mourners came together to say their goodbyes to 45-year-old single mother Renuka Amarasinghe, who died in the Toronto van attack two weeks ago.

She is being remembered as an active member of Toronto’s Sri Lankan community.

Amarasinghe was a Nutritional Service worker for the Toronto District School Board, a job she’d just started the day of the attack.

It was two weeks ago today that a van struck and killed 10 and injured 16 pedestrians on a Toronto sidewalk.

Another visitation was held this morning and a funeral service will be held this evening.
