The funeral for the man who died after he fell out of his friend’s jeep Sunday night in Hamilton’s west end will be held Saturday.

27 year-old Joey Flaherty and his friend, 33 year-old Brantford police officer Ryan Grant had visited some bars after a baseball tournament that evening before Flaherty fell, causing serious head injuries.

After Flaherty died in hospital on Tuesday, Grant had earlier charges against him upgraded to impaired driving causing death.

He is out on $25,000 bail and can’t have alcohol or drive. He is suspended from the Brantford police force.

Visitation for Flaherty will be Friday at the Marlatt Funeral Home in Dundas between 2pm and 4pm and again between 6pm and 9pm. The funeral will be held at Calvary Christian Reform Church in Flamborough at 11 o’clock on Saturday .
