Full closure coming to Burlington Canal Lift Bridge Friday night

The Burlington Canal Lift Bridge is set to close Friday night for all forms of traffic as construction work continues.

Public Services and Procurement Canada says the bridge will remain closed to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Signage will be posted to advise traffic of alternative routes during this time and drivers are urged to exercise caution when traveling through the area.

This closure is set to be followed by an extended closure stretching from Jan. 2 to March 20 in the new year to complete all construction work.
