The first phase of the $400-million Canadian Motor Speedway project in Fort Erie was completed this month.

Phase One included the reconstruction of Miller Park which started back in October. Next up, CMS will be choosing an architectural firm to create formal blueprints of NASCAR champ Jeff Gordon’s design. Groundbreaking is expected by next spring, and the speedway, which will feature everything from motorcross to snowmobile races, is expected to be finished by 2016.
