Toronto Maple Leafs defeat Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1

The Toronto Maple Leafs took on the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday at the Air Canada Centre.

The game went into overtime and with three minutes left on the clock, Leafs defenseman Jake Gardiner scored the winner over the Penguins. Nikita Zaitsev also scored for the Leafs.

Toronto skated to a 2-1 victory against the defending Stanley Cup champions.

“We played about as good as we could tonight,” said Jake Gardiner about the win. “But it also shows we can play with everybody.”
