The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has been called to investigate the undetermined cause of an overnight blaze that destroyed a small barn and its contents in Freelton.

The barn was converted into a storage garage. It belongs to the owners of the Amos Farm Market.

Fire officials say loss of the building, vehicles stored inside, and heat damage to a nearby house is estimated at $200,000. No one was hurt.

Someone driving on Freelton Road after 12:30 this morning noticed the fire and began sounding their horn to alert residents who called for help.

Hamilton Police are guarding the scene until investigators arrive.
