Fraud suspect places fake rental ads

Brantford police and authorities in Nevada are working together to crack down on a rental property scam.

Police say a fraudster going by the name “Ron” has been advertising and responding on kijiji. The victims would wire money to pay for a deposit, but later found out there was no apartment for rent.

Police want to remind everyone about the importance of internet safety and fraud education.
