Four people have died after being trapped in a burning second-floor bedroom in a house north of Toronto.

York Regional Police say someone inside the home in East Gwillimbury called 911 to report a fire around 5:30 Friday morning. Const. Blair McQuillan says police and firefighters were unable to get three men and a woman out of a second-floor bedroom, where they died. Their names have not been released as police work to notify next of kin.
