Foster care debate
Canadian foster care is being called a system in crisis. Child advocates across the country are warning more and more kids are being placed in foster care without full safety checks, while others wind up in overcrowded homes and apartments. The problem is, there just aren’t enough foster families willing to house the estimated 85,000 foster kids here in Canada. Joining us in Toronto is Tom Waldock, who specializes in child welfare and family studies at Nipissing university, and is a foster parent himself.
