Former Ticat David Lane passes away

David Lane, a former player and president of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Alumni Association has died at the age of 65.
Lane was a longtime Executive Director of the John Howard Society.
Lane played three seasons at defensive back for Guelph, earning all-Canadian honours and was nominated for the Country’s Most Outstanding player in 1974.
The Hamilton Ticats selected Lane in the seventh round of the 1974 CFL Draft.
According to a statement released by the Ticats, ” Dave’s commitment to meeting the needs of those who are underserved or marginalized has been unsurpassed. His passion for making Hamilton an even greater place for everyone was evident in how he reached out to people of all ages, in all segments of the community, in an effort to create opportunities or bring people together to address challenges and meet needs.”
