Former Hamilton pastor charged with possession of child pornography

Hamilton police have arrested a local pastor in connection with a child pornography investigation.
Back in August, police received a “cybertip” from the Canadian Centre for Child Protection that alleged a local pastor at a Baptist Church in Hamilton was in possession of child pornography.
Officers executed search warrants and seized multiple computer devices.
“As a result, evidence was collected that resulted in grounds to believe the owner of these devices was in possession of child pornography,” said Hamilton police in a news release.
On Wednesday, officers arrested 46-year-old Joshua David Conroy and charged him with possession of child pornography.
Investigators say Conroy was formerly employed as a pastor at Elliott Heights Baptist Church on Fennell Ave.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
