Former grow op goes up in smoke

The Ontario Fire Marshall’s office has been called after a suspicious fire at the site of a former marijuana grow op.

When firefighters arrived at the boarded up home on Wilson Street near Tisdale in Hamilton just after 2:30 this morning, the building was fully engulfed in flames. As fire crews tried to contain the blaze, neighbours were temporarily evacuated from their homes.

Two youths who were seen running from the area shortly before fire crews arrived are being questioned by police.

Another fire took place at the same property in August of this year. After the blaze police discovered a marijuana grow op in the basement and arrested a Hamilton couple.
