Former Burlington Elementary School Teacher Charged with Historical Sexual Assault

Halton police have arrested and charged a former elementary school teacher with a historical sexual assault.

Police said an alleged victim came forward following a media release in September. The woman was a student of John. T Tuck Elementary school in Burlington at the time of the offence in 1987.

On Oct. 26, 72-year-old Michael O’Grady of Burlington was arrested and charged with sexual assault.

O’Grady taught at various schools within the Halton District School Board and police say they believe there may be additional victims.

Police say he was released on an Undertaking.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at 905-825-4747, ext. 8976.
