Star reporter not satisfied with Ford apology

(Update)
Toronto Mayor Rob ford was apologizing again Tuesday; this time to a Toronto Star reporter. Ford says he didn’t intend to suggest Daniel Dale is a pedophile during a televised interview, but Dale isn’t satisfied with the apology.
The star reporter Daniel Dale says he’ll proceed with a defamation lawsuit against Rob Ford. he says what ford said today didn’t even come close to an apology.
Mayor Ford started the day off by saying sorry in Toronto City Hall’s Council chambers. He was sorry for comments he made while being interviewed by Conrad Black on the show Zoomer last week. Ford then went on to explain that he blames the Toronto Star newspaper for putting Daniel Dale and himself in this position in the first place. Ford said he knows it’s a competitive news business but when a 15-year long neighbour told Ford that a reporter was peering over his fence and taking pictures, Fords immediate response was to protect his family. He says that when he went to confront the reporter he did run in to Mr. Dale. Ford blamed the media for misinterpreting his comments: “I’d like to take this opportunity to clarify my comments made in an interview to Conrad Black and to apologize to Daniel Dale to the way in which the media has interpreted my statements. I never called Mr. Dale a pedophile have never used that word to describe Mr. Dale. I do not believe Mr. Dale is a pedophile nor did I intend to suggest that in my comments…….. If Mr. Daniel Dale is here I want to personally apologize to him.”
Dale claims Ford suggested he was a pedophile with the comments he made about Dale being in his backyard and ‘taking pictures of little kids’. I don’t want to say that word, but you start thinking what this guy is all about.”
On Dales Twitter page he wrote: “So…while I appreciate the Mayor’s first step, no Dad or teacher would accept that apology as sufficient. I would appreciate another try.”
Dale is also asking Vision TV to apologize for airing Fords comments.
