Toronto mayor Rob Ford is denying the latest allegations against him, including that he offered $5,000 and a car in exchange for the video that appears to show him smoking crack cocaine.

Yesterday police wiretap information was released, in which two alleged drug dealers apparently discuss their relationship with Ford. The allegations that appear in the document have not been proven in court.

This morning Ford appeared on a Washington-based radio show called The Sports Junkies. When asked about the new allegations, Ford called them “an outright lie”.

Toronto’s deputy mayor is assuring the city that business will continue as usual despite the new allegations.

Meanwhile Ford is laughing off being included on Time magazine’s list of top 10 apologies in 2013. Ford’s admission to smoking crack cocaine came in at number 2 on the list, behind celebrity chef Paula Deen’s apology for using a racist term, and ahead of U.S. president Barack Obama’s explanation for the problems with the rollout of healthcare reform.

When he heard about his place on the list, Ford joked, “not number one?”
