Fonthill-native Christina Picton heading to the Paralympic Winter Games

The Paralympic games are set to start in Beijing in just under two weeks. Canada is sending 49 athletes to compete against the best in the world.
Christina Picton has represented this country proudly for several years but in a different sport.
Christina Picton is well known in the Canadian para ice hockey world. She was a captain of the women’s national team and was the first female to try out for Canada’s senior men’s para ice hockey team.
The 28-year-old from Fonthill has moved on from women’s hockey because it’s no longer a Paralympic sport, so she took up para-nordic skiing in 2019.
Adam Atkinson sat down with Christina to see how she is preparing for the games.
