Flying tire on Highway 403 causes truck to crash west of Brantford

Ontario Provincial Police in Brant County are searching for witnesses of a flying tire on Highway 403 after the tire reportedly caused a truck to crash yesterday.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of Highway 403 between Maple Ave. and Bishopsgate Rd., west of Brantford.
OPP Const. Conrad Vitalis said in a video that the commercial truck lost control after making contact with the flying wheel and crashed into the centre median ditch of the highway.
No one was injured during the collision, Vitalis said.
“If anyone has seen anything related to this, a wheel come off a commercial motor vehicle, likely a trailer, possibly a garbage hauler or something similar, if you can contact the OPP,” Vitalis said.

Commercial motor vehicle inspectors from the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team are investigating the cause of this incident.
Police closed all eastbound lanes of Highway 403 at Brant Road 25 in order to tow and remove the truck that had crashed, but lanes were reopened again yesterday shortly after noon.
