Fly Jamaica flight headed to Toronto crash lands in Guyana

A Fly Jamaica Airways plane bound for Toronto has crash landed in Guyana after reporting a technical problem shortly after takeoff.
In a statement released Friday morning, the airline says Flight OJ256 returned to Georgetown with a technical problem and “suffered an accident on landing.”
It says all 118 passengers and eight crew members are safe.
There have been reports that dozens of Canadians were on board the flight.
A local news station in St. Lucia says six people were injured during the incident and were being treated at the Diamond Regional Hospital.
It says the Boeing 757 aircraft was forced to return to Cheddi Jagan International Airport minutes after departing for Canada because of technical difficulties and overran the airstrip.
The flight left Guyana at 2:10 a.m. Friday and the pilot reported a hydraulic problem and requested permission to return at 2:21 a.m.
