Flu, COVID-19, and cold clinic opens at McMaster Children’s Hospital

A cold, flu, and COVID-19 clinic opens Monday at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton.

The clinic is being organized by Hamilton Health Sciences in an effort to ease the current pressures hospitals are facing with pediatric care.

The clinic is located on the main floor in the main lobby in the 2G Child & Youth Ambulatory clinics space.

The clinic initiative is in partnership with Hamilton Family Medicine and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, and received provincial guidance.

The amount and severity of viral illness is heavier than normal and children are being seen with serious flu, pneumonia, COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections.

The clinic will be staffed by family doctors and opens their doors to everyone 17 and under, running Monday to Friday from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
