The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum has cancelled all flights in their iconic Lancaster bomber this year.

The museum said last month the aircraft was expected to be back up in the skies soon as a replacement engine had been test run.

But now it has decided to suspend all flights in the Lancaster bomber for the rest of 2022.

“This will allow us sufficient time to undergo an engine overhaul retrofit plan to enhance our engine reliability program,” the museum said in a tweet Thursday.

The museum grounded the plane in June after post-maintenance flight inspections.

Public plane rides in the Lancaster bomber can be booked for the 2023 season beginning in November.
