The Flamborough Sabres had a big game Sunday.

Before the game the team presented a special donation in honour of Corporal Nathan Cirillo, the soldier gunned down in Ottawa last October.

The team donated more than $3,000 to the trust fund set up for Cirillo’s son Marcus.

They raised money by selling team hats.

It’s not the first time the Flamborough Sabres haves given back to our troops.

The team often wear their camo-themed jerseys and in past years have donated to the Canada Company Scholarship which helps provide for the children of fallen soldiers.

The team went on to beat Georgetown 4-3 in Sundays playoff game.
