The first case of the Monkeypox virus has been confirmed in Norfolk County.

The Haldimand-Norfolk health unit says a resident has tested positive and is currently isolating at home. Contacts of the infected have been notified.

The region’s Medical Officer of Health says there is no increased risk of Monkeypox to the general public stemming from this case.
