Fire ‘significantly’ damages 4 homes at Mount Hope construction site

Multiple firefighters are battling a fire Tuesday afternoon that has significantly damaged four homes under construction on the west Hamilton Mountain.
The Hamilton Fire Department responded to Blackbird Way in Mount Hope shortly before 1:30 p.m. for reports of a structure fire.
“Hamilton firefighters are in a defensive firefighting operation extinguishing the fire,” Assistant Deputy Chief Steve Welton said in an email.

Welton said no one was injured during the fire.
Paramedics are also at the scene should any fire crews require medical attention.
Firefighters are expected to be at the scene for the majority of the afternoon.
