Fire sends toddler to hospital

A child has been taken to hospital after Hamilton firefighters responded to a house fire on Bay St N just after noon.

Officials say smoke was seen coming from the rear of the semi-detached house. The fire has been put out but roads are blocked by emergency vehicles. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

The 15 month old child was home alone. Police are talking to the parents.
