Fire sends three firefighters to hospital
Four firefighters were treated for exhaustion, with three going to hospital, after a roof top fire caused $100,000 worth of damage to a Burlington factory Wednesday night.
The fire broke out on the roof of Nalco Canada headquarters at 1055 Truman Street. The company manufactures chemicals, but the fire was not related to the inside of the plant.
Due to the hot weather conditions fire crews were rotated through. The four firefighters were injured during the course of putting out the fire and three were taken to Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, but were later released.
It’s believed the fire started when tar used to repair the roof caught fire.
