Fire at Port Colborne marine salvage yard

A fire broke out at a salvage yard in Port Colborne this afternoon.

The blaze started in a pile of scrap rubber on the marine salvage property, and caused thick smoke to blanket a large area near Lake Erie. Additional fire crews were called in to help put out the fire, but strong winds hampered their efforts.

No one was injured. There’s no word what sparked the fire.
