When firefighters entered the building, they reported heavy fire on the first and second floors with the blaze extending into the attic.

Crews used two aerial trucks to gain access to the roof and ensure the fire was contained, removing the roof and assisting with interior firefighting operations.

The fire caused an estimated $400,000 in damages.

There are no reported injuries as a result of the fire. The cause is not known at this time and members of Hamilton police will be investigating.
