Fire in Hamilton causes over $400K in damages, no injuries to report

Two homes in west Hamilton have been extensively harmed after a fire broke out, causing over $400,000 in damages.

Emergency crews responded to calls of the fire on Lochearne Street shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Crews say they saw smoke and fire coming from the attic in one home, which then spread to another home.

Hamilton’s fire department says they managed to get the situation under control in about 20 minutes and that no one was home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
