Fire engulfs Hamilton home

A Hamilton family returned from a weekend getaway to find their home engulfed in flames.

Firefighters responded around midnight to 928 Concession St.

The fire spread quickly because the house was under renovations. Heavy fire on the ground floor forced the crews to retreat.

Luckily, the family and their pets were at a friend’s house when the fire took place and are all safe.

The cause and cost of the fire have yet to be determined.
