Fire damage could top $1 million

A fire at a stable in north Burlington last night may have caused more than a million dollars in damage, but no horses lost their lives.

The fire at Woodview Stables broke out around 4:30 pm, but fire fighters were kept on scene well into the night.

Water had to be trucked in to fight the rural fire.

About 40 horses were safely moved away from the burning barn and have since been taken in by local farmers.

The Ontario fire marshal’s office will be investigating the cause of the fire today because of the high cost of the damage.
