Fire crews respond to industrial fire

No one was injured after a small fire broke out at an industrial building in Hamilton’s east end Sunday afternoon.

Crews were called to the building on Imperial Street at around 2:00 p.m. The building is owned by Terrapure Environmental, which specializes in industrial waste management.

A hazmat team was called in to investigate, but found that the substances were not hazardous.

The Ministry of the Environment was also called in as a precaution. Damage was minimal and the fire is not being considered suspicious.
