Fire crews battle house fire on Wood Place in Oakville

Fire crews are investigating the cause of a fire at a house in Oakville.

Crews were called to the home on Wood Pl., near Third Line and Speers Rd., around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

The home, which was under construction, has been destroyed.

Officials say by the time crews arrived it was too late to save the structure, noting that there were no smoke alarms or anything in the home.

“The warnings or the calls we received were basically by passersby that either saw the smoke and or flames,” said fire chief Paul Boissonneault.

A neighbouring home was damaged in the fire. No injuries were reported.
