Hamilton police closed north and southbound lanes of Upper James Street between the highway 6 by-pass and White Church Road before noon on Wednesday, due to a fire.

Firefighters have arrived on scene to extinguish the blaze on Upper James Street.

The Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.
