Fire at Hamilton school

School will be cancelled again Friday after a fire at Chedoke Elementary School on Hamilton Mountain.

The fire erupted in a science lab on the second floor around 9 o’clock Wednesday night.

Smoke was billowing from the building and it took about 20 firefighters more than an hour to get it under control.

They had to cut holes in the roof of the school to help with ventilation.

There is also extensive smoke and water damage.

A group of students playing sports and a janitor were inside at the time but everyone was fine.
