Fire at an empty Brampton home sends 2 firefighters to hospital

An early morning fire at a Brampton home sent two firefighters to hospital in non-life-threatening condition on Monday.

Emergency responders were first called to the home in the area of Cadence Rd. and Eastman Dr. just after 4 a.m.

Crews say that the home was empty at the time.

Peel Regional Police say that two firefighters were injured while battling the flames and were taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Peel police say that due to the injuries sustained by the responding crews the Fire Marshal has been notified and will investigate the incident.
