Hamilton’s Josh Hill, is bouncing back from his loss on the UFC’s reality show, ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ The 27-year old mixed martial artist has signed with the ‘World Series of Fighting’ and will get a shot at a title in the spring.

Arguably Canada’s best bantamweight mixed martial arts fighter, Josh “The Gentleman” Hill took his recent defeat on “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show, quite graciously: “I think it actually took a lot of pressure off me, I carried that monkey on my back for a long time. My goal was to stay undefeated. Now I can go in there and just fight.”

Because they were considered ‘exhibition’ bouts, Hill’s perfect 9 and 0 record remains intact. And while it wasn’t the outcome he was hoping for, he’s pleased that his wrestling skills improved during his time on the show. His TV performance also caught the eye of a relatively new MMA organization, the World Series of Fighting, which has amalgamated many of the smaller circuits around the world, and is considered second only to the UFC: “They’re a big up and coming organization. They’ve only been around for a short time and already they’ve expanded into different countries. I’m really happy to be a part of that, if it wasn’t UFC, definitely WSOF is my #1 pick.”

In his first of three fights with World Series, the five-foot-six, 135 pound Hamilton native will face Winnipeg’s Curtis Brigham in a match that MMA enthusiasts in Canada have been waiting for: “And, I won the original aggression belt. Curtis won the AFC belt, so they wanted us to fight each other eventually, to have an undisputed champion and now they’re going to do it under the World Series.”

A date has not yet been set for the World Series bantamweight title fight, but it is expected to take place sometime in April.
