Another case of measles has been detected in Toronto, but this one is different from the rest. This latest person infected with the highly contagious disease had received the recommended two doses of the measles vaccine. It is an adult who was born after 1970.

So far, the investigation has shown there is no confirmed connection to the other four toronto cases, and it is not travel-related.

Being the fifth case, it does indicate that measles is currently circulating in toronto.Measles is highly contagious- and “herd immunity” is required to keep it from spreading.

That means 95% of people need to be vaccinated.
