It’s a festival weekend

There’s no shortage of festivals in the Golden Horseshoe this Labour Day weekend.

Downtown Hamilton’s Oktoberfest is really all about the music. It started at 6 pm tonight with two stages. Five acts performed tonight and more will be hitting stages tomorrow. Tonight’s headliner was Steven Page, formerly with the Barenaked Ladies. It didn’t seem to matter that the months didn’t match up.

If you prefer food to music, you can check out Canada’s Largest Ribfest at Burlington’s Spencer Smith Park. Thousands will be turning out to take a bite.

Down Niagara way in Welland, Illuminaqua is taking place. It’s a blend of music, fire, and fountains all set on the waters of the Old Welland Canal.
